Verdict: the most free steps, no big bills
Lucien costs 595 diamonds, second in W: Time Catcher after Onyx at 970. What sets him apart: 15 of his 28 steps are free, more than anyone else in the story, and no single choice goes above 71. It's a route you can pay for as you go.
Where the diamonds go
Season 1 is mostly free: 11 of its 14 choices cost nothing, and the other three add up to 106 diamonds. The biggest is "Get to know Lucien better." for 66 in Episode 7, Sacrament.
Season 2 is 148 diamonds:
- Episode 6, All the Secrets: "Wait for his next move." — 67.
- Episode 11, Changes: "I don't want to stop." — 49.
- Episode 10, The Sacrifice: "Yes…" — 32.
Season 3 takes 341, spread over eight steps:
- Episode 4, Cold Metal: "But I'm not ready to let you go just yet…" for 71 and a 49-diamond choice.
- Episode 3, The Stars: "Yes, please." — 70.
- Episode 9, City of Wonders: "That would be great." — 64.
The finale, Episode 12, has a 26-diamond step and a free one.
How I'd play it
Pay as you go through Seasons 1 and 2, 254 diamonds in total. In Season 3, Episode 4 at 120 is the only one I'd move to Diamond Rush. Compare with Shen at 563 or Onyx at 970.
